Trilobite - Sweet Waldron Shale Calymene Hiding Under Lichenalia - Fossils Crinoid

Offered here is a beautifully prepared, very unusual, semi-prone, (tail tucked under) Calymene breviceps trilobite hiding under a Lichenalia cocentrica bryozoan from the Waldron Shale Formation from Blue Springs Quarry (filled with water) in Waldron, Indiana, Silurian in age. The trilobite measures almost 13/16” long (would be close to 1” if totaling prone). Both free cheeks are slightly loose and tucked under. The bryozoan measures 2” wide and has beautiful preservation. As you... can see from the pictures, the trilobite has beautiful shell coloration. In the 40 years I’ve collected the Waldron Shale, this is the only piece I’ve ever found like this. This beautiful piece was found about 20 years ago during the time we had a lease on part of the old Blue Springs Quarry outside Waldron, Indiana. The quarry is full of water and is in a legal battle.
