Excellent quality genuine 233 year old example; a handsome size with a large one pint capacity, it has 2 decorative scrolled silver handles and it rests on a flared silver pedestal base. Inside it still has a clean interior and it has a very heavy silver weight, approx 379 grams. As a bonus there are no added personal engraved inscriptions or monograms and it is ready to be used.Measurements Great size, measures approx. 7 inches (175mm) in length, (including handles), x 4 inches (102mm) wide and stands 6 inches (150mm) in height.Date Irish antique 18th Century Georgian solid sterling silver, with a full set of Irish silver hallmarks for Dublin 1786, (date letter "O"). Good clear struck marks, includes the "crown & Harp" Irish silver stamp and the figure of Hibernia. The date could also possibly be Dublin 1762 as the date letter is identical. Maker Silversmiths initials "M W", (Matthew West - 1763-1792).Condition Lovely antique condition and ready to be used. No splits or cracks, no obvious repairs, definitely no wear holes and no nasty knocks or dents, made from a good thick silver gauge so would be hard to dent!
