Vintage Royal Albert Old Country Roses Tea Set for Six 23 Piece Set Made in EnglandOld Country Roses originally launched in 1962 and is now renowned for being synonymous with Royal Albert and fabulous British tea parties. The motifs of burgundy, pink and yellow roses were inspired by a quintessentially English country garden in full bloom, designed in flamboyant flair and accented with lustrous gold banding.This is a beautiful and vintage tea set for six f...rom Royal Albert in their beloved Old Country Roses pattern with an XL teapot. The 23 piece set includes the following:XL 6 Cup Teapot with LidMilk Jug/Creamer Sugar BowlSix Tea Cup and Saucer SetsHandled 10 inch Cake PlateSix 6 1/4 inch Individual PlatesThe set is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, loss to the gold or repairs with the exception of one hairline in one tea cup (pic 9). In fact, the set appears to have never been used, and most likely only displayed.
All pieces are marked with the original first backstamp, Old Country Roses, ROYAL ALBERT, Bone China, England, except for the teapot which is marked Old Country Roses, ROYAL ALBERT, Bone China, England, Copyright 1962 Royal Albert LTD. These backstamps date the teapot to 1973-1993 and all the other pieces to 1962-1973 (pics 10 & 11).
