This is a scarce antique pottery miniature whiskey advertising jug from Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania.....GRAND UNION PURE RYE WHISKEY 27 SOUTH MAIN STREET W.B. in black underglaze stencil on front.....White glazed stoneware mini jug with applied handle....only 3"tall....Excellent condition with no chips or damage of any kind. The black ink smudged a little when it was made, but it is underglaze so cannot be worn off. I had never seen this little mini jug before. It was made in the 1890s ...or early 1900 pre prohibition era...
