Omega Constellation Chronometer F300Hz Tuning Fork 1972 - 198. 0027 - Runs Well
Item History & Price
The gold plated case is in good condition with a few scratches but likely never polished. The case back is also unpolished and still has a sharp and detailed engraving of the observatory and a circular brushed finish. Original signed crown. The crystal is in excellent condition.
The dial is very interesting with tall applied indexes on a raised outer ring. The dial has a subtle vertical brushi...ng and gold tone that plays with light in a very nice way hard to show on pictures. It has a few dots of patina that add to the constellation style! The hands are in very good condition too and there is a date window at 3.
It is powered by a Tuning fork movement, probably the most interesting and accurate pre-quartz solution developed to power a watch with electricity. It's an ESA 9162 / Omega 1250 with 300 beats per second resulting in a smooth running second hand and a unique "humming" sound. It's running well and keeps very good time.
Ref. 198.0027Serial 3485xxxx (1972)
It comes with a new Roamer leather strap.
The case measures 36.5mm without crown, 44mm lug to lug, 10.5mm thick with a 20mm lug width._________________________
Please note :
The watch is located in, and shipped from, Geneva, Switzerland.
Time accuracy of vintage mechanical watches cannot be guaranteed as perfect and long lasting. I describe the watch as I see it. I will mention if the accuracy is too wrong for the watch to be worn as sold. I usually don't know the service history of the watch and would advise to have it serviced in order to keep it running for a long time. The water resistance is not tested.
Shipping is done by priority mail (Swiss Post) with tracking number. I will ship to the shipping address sent with the Paypal payment.
Importation fees are the buyer's responsibility.
Thanks!
