There is one tiny "bruise" on one thin rib along the side. I have shown that in two images. Under the base, there is a small piece of clay missing from the inside edge of the foot ring. That is also shown in a photo attached. It may have happened when fired. It is, of course, not visible as the vase stands.
THIS IS THE ONLY KNOWN EXAMPLE OF THIS FORM. There are a couple other vases that are also not in Grueby's more typical vegetal form, one of which is in a major museum. This form is likely from the Grueby Pottery's earliest years. It would be a fine addition to the collection of any advanced collector wishing to include a range of Grueby forms.
Grueby's work won two gold medals at the Exposition Universalle in Paris 1900, and medals at the Pan-American Exposition (Buffalo 1901) and gold medals in both St. Petersburg (1901) and at the St Louis world's fair in 1904.
If you have any questions about this listing, please write and I will try to answer or post more images. Satisfaction is assured or the item may be returned for a full refund if presented undamaged. I will pack carefully and insure for the full purchase price value.
Thanks for bidding!Jim
