Established in 1897 and using an Edison patent movie camera, J. Stuart Blackton and Albert Smith founded the Vitagraph Company of America. In 1911 they opened a studio in Hollywood and in 1925 the company was sold to Warner Bros. for a comfortable profit. Excellent image of a young Albert Smith who, together with his partner J.
