It was the Kayser company's aim, through its use of the methods of mass production, to make artistically designed, contemporary stylish objects of daily use (such as candlesticks, ashtrays, lamps, beakers, vases, tea and coffee sets) accessible to a broad selection of the public. This elegant bowl made in form of a basket with a handle was the creation of Hugo Leven - one the most famous and influential of Jugendstil designers. The design is well known - it was created in 1904. The mark at the bottom reads "Kayserzinn 4415". The holder is in great condition, there are very minor dings and scratches unavoidable with pewter and needs some cleaning. There is no breaks, tears, losses or repairs. It is 6" long, 5" tall. The handle is engraved with a presentation inscription: " Gruss aus Bad-Ailibling" - "Greetings from Bad-Ailibling". Bad-Ailibling is a famous spa town in Bavaria, Germany.. Please note - this is the original object of art from early 1900. I guarantee my dating and description.
