Here is a sterling silver souvenir spoon that likely dates from sometime around the early 1900s or no later than 1920. It measures about 5 1/8" long and weighs 13.8 grams. This was a souvenir from La Junta, Colorado and is hand-engraved in the bowl: La Junta, Colo. Although it has a baseball player on the handle (along with bats, a baseball and catcher's mask), I'm not sure if it was actually promoting a minor league baseball team or not. To be over 100 years old, t...he spoon still looks to be in nice condition and displays really well. There are some tiny scratches and near the end of the handle are a couple or so pinpoint dings which are hard to notice. All of the wear is very minor and overall the spoon likely grades in very good to excellent overall condition. Any bright white spots are just glare/reflections from the light.
