Inthis listing we have a very TLC version of vintage Skipper’s Rainor Shine outfit. This outfit was released by Mattel in the early1960’s. It consist of a yellow rain coat made from a semi-thickwoven material, a matching belt with a metal buckle, a matchingyellow cap, and a pair of white boots. This outfit is designed to fitthe vintage Skipper doll and will fit similar sized dolls. This maynot be of any interest, but this outfit was recently imported fromJapan, but it’s the exact... same as the US release. Thisoutfit is in very TLC condition. It’s not the worst condition thingI’ve seen, but it has a lot of issues. For starters, everything islighter than it should be. The colors are a little darker in picturesthen in real life, all of the clothing pieces are a light buttercream color. They are the same color, but they are lighter than theyshould be. Starting with the coat. It is a little wrinkled, I didpress it, but it could use more help. There are some excess threadsat the sleeve openings on both sides. There’s some pretty decentfraying to the embroidered tag at the collar. It also has severalspots of staining. The worst one is some pink colored staining thatpretty much covers the collar. It’s on the front and the back ofthe collar. There’s also some light green staining to the rightshoulder on the coat. Those might not be visible in pictures. There’salso some minor staining elsewhere on the coat, but those are themost obvious. On the back of the jacket there’s an overlay at theupper back. At the center of the overlay there’s a small tear tothe fabric and some minor fraying. It’s not terrible, but it isnoticeable and it could get worse over time. On the top of the collarit looks like there’s a tiny amount of fraying to the fabric, butjust a couple threads. The belt also has a pretty large stain on oneside. There’s also a couple other of stains here and there on thebelt. The belt is not hemmed, and there a lot of fraying around theedges. The holes for the buckle are a little frayed as well. Theylook pretty small so they might have closed up and it might be trickyto get the belt closed. The metal buckle looks good, but it does havesome slight tarnish to it and there’s some bits of pitting to themetal. The hat looks good. The brim in the front is unhemmed and hasa decent amount of fraying. There are some excess threads on theinside back hem of the hat. There is some minor fray to the fabric onthe hat, but it’s really minor. The boots are okay, but they havebeen cut short. They should be knee high boots, but they are midknee. The trimming wasn’t perfect, so it’s a bit uneven in spotsand not very straight. The boots are also a bit yellowed. One of themis more yellow than the other. They are unmarked. Please examine allpictures to see the exact condition of the outfit and please keep inmind some of these issues are more visible in person then inpictures.Pleasefeel free to contact me with any questions you may have regardingthis item.Thankyou and have a great day!
