Superb Vintage Girard Perregaux Gyromatic 39 Jewels Wristwatch.
I believe this Watch to date to around the middle of the 1960s. Girard Perregaux have not made their serial numbers public but can tell you the exact date for a princely sum!
39!... Jewels Automatic Calibre 21.29 Movement with Date function. Of super quality.
The Movement is wonderful and clean whilst ticking away strongly and keeping Excellent time having been FULLY PROFESSIONALLY SERVICED. You will receive a copy of the Service Receipt please keep this for your records.
Amazing Vintage Dial, that I think started off Dark Blue has now Tropicalised and has a awesome Patina throughout. This is the type of Vintage Dial that is well sought after. This is the Original unmolested Dial that left the G.P factory in the 1960s and what a bundle of character it has amassed.
This is NOT a Redial!! Very often we see Vintage Watches with awful restored dials, basically sucking the lifeblood out of the Watch.
80 microns Gold Plated case, probably the highest Plate count I have ever came across, when you think your excellent quality Omega will be 30-60 microns, it goes to show the quality that Girard Perregaux wanted this Watch to be of. Square Case, certainly one of the rarer Gyromatics.
Case is in good order for it's age with no real marks at all, the Plate has held up well with some age related marks but nothing major at all.
Original hands all good.
Original Crystal is in good order having been lightly buffed and polished as part of the Service, there is one deep faded mark but we daren't polish any deeper as it could fracture the crystal.
Original Signed Crown.
On a new 18mm Light Brown Genuine Leather Strap with Gold Plated buckle that Compliments the Watch very well indeed.
Case measures approximately 30mm and 33mm with the Crown. 39mm end of lug to lug.
Overall, a stunning Vintage Wristwatch of super Quality with a tropical Dial to die for. Fully Serviced and ready to wear.
