Here we have a stunning large antique block meerschaum estate pipe, exquisitely carved to depict a scene from theBrothers Grimm tale, "The Frog Prince". It features the partially-nude princess in a state of surprise, with the frog on her lap, and the gold ball inher hand.
The pipe is complete with a lovely egg-yolk amber stem, and comes housed in its original fitted presentation case.
The meerschaum has coloured beautifully is in excellent condition overall ...- just one tiny repair to the princess' left hand (see photo 9).The amber stem has been repaired (see photos 9 & 10) but now appears to be stable.
There is a shallow layer of carbon in the chamber, and a little around the rim.The stem is very securely fixed to the shank, and air flows through the pipe freely.
The case has a little damage but is in great condition overall, and it closes securely.
