Vintage Gauloises Liberte Toujours (Freedom Forever) 1939-40 Slogan Ashtray. Preowned. No cracks or chips.
Measurements: 4 1/2 x 1 1/2”
Weight before boxing: 8.1 oz.
France has had a time of it with, wanting to ban a lot of well-known big-name cigarette companies from, selling to their citizens. And during the war the Gauloises used the slogan “Freedom Forever” to support the troops. I guess it sort of had a double meaning during lawsuits between the major companie...s and France. They no longer sell in the UK.
France did ban complete smoke-free policy in public places in Feb. 2007. In place like work, shopping centers, airports, hospitals, schools, and train stations. Then in Jan. Of 2008, that was extended to meeting places like bars, restaurants, hotels, nightclubs, and casinos. Once again collector’s item.
Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
