Babe Ruth Yankees Stadium Locker Tag 1929 - 1934? Memorabilia Rare
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:570155 | Player: Babe Ruth |
Team: New York Yankees |
The Babe would arrive at Yankee Stadium uncertain as to the whereabouts of his uniform and cleats, all he had to do was look for his name and number on this medallion. Once found, the tag would identify Ruth’s locker – the trove of his belongings. This bronze/brass (I am unsure of what metal it is made from) medallion helped Ruth – often. Round, flat and approximately two-inches in diameter, this tag hung from the Babe’s home locker at Yankee Stadium so...metime between 1929 and 1934. Anecdotes explain that players received three tags – one each for equipment bag, locker and luggage. The pendant’s front is engraved “Babe Ruth 3.” On the back is engraved “Yankee Stadium Locker 3 The Bronx, New York.” Research has shown additional copies were produced for the Babe to hand out to a lucky few.
The medallion is in vg-good condition with engravings and faces moderately tarnished from age. It has a few very small nicks. Please ask questions or let me know if you want additional pictures. This item is Sold As Is.Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
