A Rare & Unique Pre-Columbian Jalisco/Colima Tripod Vessel with Figures of Three Parrots and Feather-like Exterior, Protoclassic, ca. 100 B.C.-A.D.250.
This extremely rare ceramic bowl, supported by three legs, has three parrot heads evenly spaced around the rim, and a scalloped feather-like outer surface decoration, reddish-brown slip, conical in form, and beautiful ancient patina, dates to the Protoclassic Period of the West Mexican Jalisco sculptural trad...ition with Colima influence, ca. 100 B.C. to A.D. 250.
