Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for an elaborately decorated antique American Sterling Silver match safe/vesta case, c. 1890. The case has an all-over embossed design with two cherubs above a cartouche (unused) on each side and has a lion's head mask on each side of the top. The hinge is tight and the case opens and closes correctly. Has striker on bottom. Marked "Sterling" on interior rim on each side.The case is in very good to... excellent Estate condition with the only noted flaws being very faint dents on one top corner and the lower corners from normal wear. Measures 2 1/2" long, 1 5/8" wide and 3/8" deep. Weighs 20 grams. We at Antiques & Moore have been in the Antiques business for over 30 years and try to describe our items as accurately as possible.
