Vintage 1950's"Westinghouse" Refrigerator M-8
WOW, what a rare find! This magnificent retro fridge was salvagedfrom an old home in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Itwas made by, "Westinghouse" sometime during the 1950's. It waswell-maintained while in use and stored indoors once it was replaced. As aresult, it's 100% complete and functional! It even has it's original ice cubetrays. The exterior of the fridge is dirty, butfree of flaws like breaks, cracks, gou...ges, or dents. The interior is very cleanconsidering that it hasn't been used in decades. The old, rubber casing of the cord isbrittle and breaks when bent, however, it's just the casing; the wires withinare intact and in great shape. We used electric tape to wrap any portions ofbroken casing, and you could pretty much mummify the cord from top to bottomwith electric tape instead of re-sheathing it. The hinges that hold the door arestrong, as is the latch which keeps the door closed. Once plugged in, the inside cools quicklyand the temperature control works. Even the interior light is still functional! All of the shelves, drawers, and trays are inexceptional condition--amazing! The only thing that you may want to replace isthe rubber sealant around the interior edges of the door (see 2nd to lastphoto). Although it's brittle and has many cracks, it still keeps the cold in(more of a cosmetic blemish). Once you give the fridge a through cleaning, itwill look almost as good as new. Old refrigerators are getting harder tofind, and of the available selection, may are inoperable or incomplete. Ourfridge is priced higher than most others, but you get what you pay for! Whyspend time searching for parts or spend a lot for restoration, when you couldget an old fridge that just needs a bit of TLC? Once this fridge sells, whoknows if and when you'll get another opportunity. Don't miss out!
