Timney Fowler ~ Renowned Designers :
Timney Fowler are SueTimney and Graham Fowler, a design team of international repute who beganworking together after graduating in textiles from London's Royal College ofArt in the late 70s. Timney had earlier studied fine art and Fowler, graphicsand textiles. They launched themselves as freelance designers in 1979, sellingprinted fabric. In 1985 they produced their own range of interior furnishingsto sell in their first London showroom in Portobello Road, soon moving to Chelsea, London.Self-confessed ‘20th-centuryvultures’, their inspiration was drawn variously from photography, mythology, classicism, and European history, and from the arts and crafts and aestheticmovements— this eclecticism expressed with bold graphic imagery and very often inan uncompromising monochrome. The company's design criteria could be said to beembodied in the Neo-Classical and historical Old Masters Collections, the coreof the Timney Fowler fabric range, produced in the late 70s/early 80s - 90sIf design hype wereto be believed, they virtually invented black and white ~ (although they did also occasionally venture into colour design). This strikingclassical modernism was taken up avidly by the style conscious avant-garde inthe early 1980s. From the early years, strong links were established withJapan, from where their work derived many influences, and their clientsincluded such renowned designers as Yohji Yamamoto and Issey Miyake.Timney Fowler collectionshave been, and still are, featured in some of the world's leading museums ofmodern design, including the V & A, London. Over the years the duo becametruly internationally renowned, supplying specialist design consultancyservices to leading fashion and household names. They have worked with and collaborated with suchrenowned designers as : Yves SaintLaurent, Chloé, and Agnes B., designed for Calvin Klein and Saks Fifth Avenue, designedtableware for Wedgwood, and worked with Linda McCartney. The measurements given are with the blind laid flat and cords at back loosened off as much as we can.
You can higher and lower the blind and set it in position, as much or as little as you choose ~ you will need to take this into account when considering measurements.
