You are biding on a super rare W. Taylor cast iron sewing machine. The sewing machine was probably made in England in the 1860-1870s period and has an unusual patent number on the table of the machine. Known patent numbers for Taylors' sewing machines are 1156, 13345 and 37005. This machine is patent numbered 17849 which as far as I can find is an unknown patent for W. Taylor machines. The cast iron machine is in very nice vintage condition with no visible damage or breaks and retains ...most of its original paint and decoration. Machine appears to be in somewhat working order when the lower drive wheel is turned everything seems to move as it should but needs a good cleaning and lubrication. The machine also needs its cross belt in order for the crank handle to work the machine. This is a fine example of a very rare sewing machine. From the research I have done there are only a few examples of this rare machine and this one in this condition would have to be among the finest all original examples to survive today. Again this is the only example with this patent number that I can find anywhere. Please do your own homework and you will realize the rarity of this machine, especially in this untouched condition.
