Radio Detector, Dept of Navy Steam Engine 1910 to 1920, TYPE 183a RARE! 1910. This detector is over 100 years "or more" old. It is also unbelievably rare to find one with all three crystals intact and the detector springs working. This thing should be in a museum! If you're an uncompromising collector of antique technology, I don't think you'll find a better specimen. WWI stand alone Triple Crystal Detector made for the Navy Department Bureau of Steam Engineering around 1917 by t...he Marine Engine Company Co. of Boston, Ma. This detector used three different minerals on three different stands. This detector was used with the IP-500/ SE 143 Navy receivers during WWI.
