Wayne Barlowe Barlowe’s Inferno HC & Brushfire Portfolio RARE Hellboy Del Toro
Item History & Price
You are looking at my copies of famed artist and illustrator Wayne Douglas Barlowe’s 1998 book ‘Barlowe’s’ Inferno and its 2001 accompanying volume ‘Brushfire: Illuminations From The Inferno’, both published by Morpheus International.
Barlowe is known for his books and cards depicting alien life and for his production design work on such films as Guillermo Del Toro’s Hellboy.
‘Barlowe’s Inferno’ is an illustrated travelogue of the author’s depictions of ...hell, it’s demonic denizens and bizarre flora and fauna. It is a 71 page large format hardcover (11.25” x 11.25”) with dustjacket.
The interior is immaculate, the outer hardcover is in very good/fine condition and the dustjacket shows minor signs of edgewear.
‘Brushfire: Illuminations From The Inferno’ expands upon the previous volume by presenting 15 new paintings and numerous drawings of his visions of hell, along with a commentary written as though he himself were drawing and painting the creatures and landscapes from life.
It is a 30 page large format (12” x 14”) folio style softcover with heavy, glossy, embossed cardstock covers, end-flaps and a portfolio-style button-tie enclosure.
The covers are a little dusty but otherwise there is virtually no wear at all, and I would say the book is in very fine condition.
These are excellent works from an excellent artist and writer and essentially being sold under duress due to the current circumstances. Forgive me Wayne!
Postage is free in the UK and I will ship worldwide at a cost of £25. Payment is via PayPal, and I AM open to offers but please don’t be silly.
Thank you for looking and please take a look at my other items for sale.
