Here we have a superb & rare antique French briar estate pipe in the unusual zeppelin / cigar shape, with a wonderful, varied grain to the briar, branded "L'Atlantide".
I was unable to find any information about this maker online.
It remains in very good condition overall - just one small crack to the briar where it meets the stem (see photo 10) - and a few other light dings and surface scratches.
There is a good layer of carbon in the chamber.The two briar sections attach together very securely, and the stem fixes securely to the shank. Air flows through freely.
"L'Atlantide" is stamped on the briar above "Bte S.G.D.G" then "France - Etranger".
Very collectible!
