Rare blank/plain side mount Starr X wall mount bottle opener with 1925 patent date. NOTICE! At some point in time the surface of this opener was ground down to possibly remove a name or imperfection. The patina on that area matches the patina on the rest of the opener so I believe it was done long ago, possibly by Brown Manufacturing themselves. This opener looks just like others I have seen in guides and websites as I have researched this item and I feel it is authentic. I have includ...ed photos of the December 31, 1944 inventory from Brown Manufacturing showing low inventories in many areas. The side mount openers are referred to as "old Style" in the Starr X category. There are 117 Icy-O openers listed and they were most likely out of business by then. It may be possible that some were altered to meet a specific need and due to metal shortages due to WWII. This is all speculation so use your best judgment and bid accordingly. Condition is "Used".
