RARE Civil War Soldiers Record. St. Francisville Guards. Captain Edward Blackburn enlisted July 12th 1861. In the north Missouri Home Guard and fought at the Battle of Athens. Mustered into Company "G", 21st Missouri Infantry on Feb 1st, 1862. Than promoted to Captain in 1862. The 21st Missouri Infantry fought in numerous battles, including Shiloh, Corinth, Pleasant Hill, Tupelo and Nashville. That is the history I was able to find through research. All of it lines up with this S...oldiers record. There is so much to show, but I'm only allowed 12 pictures. If you need any information and/ pictures of the men listed under the Captain and Lieut. just email me and I'm happy to send more pictures. The bottom reads, The year 1862 by Samuel W. Martin in the clerks office of the district court of ______ the district of Wisconsin, Inventor of the first _bn_____________made legal by the state of Wisconsin by L. Lipman, Milwauke. Next line An act of the legislator Approved April 7th, 1862. The places that were unreadable had tape over them so I was not able to read the entire bottom. There are several place where there are holes, tears and tape and water stains. See the back, it shows the middle section is taped from left to right. This is sandwiched between plexiglass? And has the removable metal edging. I HAVE NOT REMOVED IT FROM THE FRAME. You can also see the hanger that was put on, It measures 20" long by 16" wide. Reminds me of an old lithograph with a touch of color where you see the American Flag. This is a fabulous piece of American History and will only BE SOLD IN THE UNITED STATES. I'm glad someone saved it all these years for us to see and appreciate. This came from an Avid Collectors Personal Collection. I will be listing more as they are willing to let them go.
