TWO Rare Original 16-inch single-sided Vitaphone discs for Warner Bros. 1928 film "The Singing Fool" starring Al JolsonSynchronous sound-track discs Discs play at 33-1/3 rpm, and are played from inner most groove outward.Special black Test Labels, pressed by Victor for Warner Bros. on heavy shellac(Vitaphone discs usually have white labels and are usually identified as pressed by Victor Talking Machine Co.)
Each numbered disc was produced to provide the sound for a reel of film....These discs provided the sound for Reels 6 and 7 of the film "The Singing Fool"
"The Singing Fool" was a Part-Talkie with most of the soundtrack being background music and effects.Songs were interspersed during the film.Reel 6 includes Al Jolson singing "Sonny Boy" plus incidental music and effectsReel 7 contains background / incidental music and effects
Discs are in E+ to N- condition ... beautiful copies of these rare discs.
These large shellac discs are Fragile, and will be carefully packed and "sandwiched" between "junk" transcriptions for protection.Even with careful packing, with cushioning and protection, I cannot guarantee their safety going through the mails.
