ORIGINAL RARE VINTAGE 1934 FBI WANTED POSTER
JOHN DILLINGER
Unusual printed Wanted poster, 7 3/4" x 8", providing identifying information for iconic bank robber JOHN DILLINGER (1903-1934). The flyer, released by the U.S. Justice Department's "Division of Investigation" (the precursor to the FBI) as "Identification Order No. 1217" and dated March 12, 1934, reproduces Dillinger's full set of fingerprints over his most recent mugshot and facsimile signature. I...t further gives his physical characteristics and his criminal record, as well as the charges he is currently sought for under the National Motor Vehicle Theft Act. The verso bears the addresses and telephone numbers of a large list of Division of Investigation field offices.
Shows an original horizontal fold at center, with some adhesive residue to the verso, else very good.
