Ebay Template Rare VTG Ilse Ludecke German Cloth Doll White Asparagus Vendor 1940's Handmade Product Image Description For consideration is a rare vintage Ilse Ludecke German handmade cloth doll with a wood bench carrying "white asparagus"! This 1940's era cloth doll is a vendor (named "Martha") selling "wh...ite asparagus". The green felt underneath the base is signed "Ilse" by the artist. From the appearance of the felt it seems that there was once a label affixed; however, it is missing and not included with purchase. (Please see photograph 11 for details.) Please see detailed photographs provided as to the cosmetic condition of this pre-owned doll. It derives from a smoke-free home. The doll is wearing a head scarf, neck scarf, shirt, Dirndl dress, and apron. She also has a skirt underneath her dress, as well as pants, socks and a second apron pinned to the skirt inside her dress. (Within the pocket of the second apron is a paper booklet that goes with the doll. It reads List No. 022 and contains the historical background of the doll "Martha" standing behind her bench offering asparagus. The paper is also signed by "Ilse". Please see photograph 12 for details.) The doll's sock appears to be peeking out of her left shoe at the tip. The print on the newspaper sheets on one side of her bench is in German. The approximate measurements of this item are height: 13 1/2", width (of wooden base): 4", depth (of wooden base): 7 1/2". This weighs almost 1 pound. The doll is constructed of fabric. The bench and base are constructed of wood. I am uncertain what material the the doll's shoes and asparagus are constructed of. I am uncertain if the doll's hair is real or faux hair.
