For sale, a DUG, BUT FULLY READABLE, EXTREMELY RARE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA "GHOST TOWN" AND R-10 UNLISTED TOKEN IN BOTH THE OLD KAPPEN CALIFORNIA TOKEN CATALOGS & TOUGH TO FIND ANY ANTIQUE TOKENS FROM THIS GHOST TOWN, old "good for" style trade token which actually is "GOOD FOR) 12 1/2C IN TRADE" at saloon business which was called "DALE CALIF. (told a saloon)", which was located in the desert mining ghost town of DALE or also called "NEW ...DALE", CALIFORNIA.THIS IS A SUPER RARE MOJAVE DESERT MINING GHOST TOWN, AND THIS TOKEN COMPLETELY UNLISTED IN THE CAL TOKEN CATALOGS.....I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THIS WAS A SALOON IN THE THIRSTY LITTLE MINING CAMP OF NEW DALE CALIFORNIA, LOCATED IN THE FAMED "VIRGINIA DALE MINING DISTRICT" NEAR JOSHUA TREEThe original ghost town of Dale aka Dale City was part of the Dale Mining District (or Virginia Dale), and original camp started around 1881...and at some point had couple thousand people, and the town served the mines...but around 1899 because of water issues a new town called "New Dale" was relocated....so this token was used in "Dale" aka "New Dale"...around 1900 to 1917 when site was abandoned....today this is a total ghost town. I have collected tokens from the Mojave Desert region, and told this token which simply says "DALE CALIF" was the town saloon in New Dale, California. I have seen this practice before in old west towns, where just the town name was the obverse.The site of the ghost town of DALE is located in the mojave desert region of San Bernardino County...not far from 29 PALMS, JOSHUA TREE, AND SOUTH OF LUDLOW CaliforniaTrade token is aluminum metal, round, about 23mm in diameter , and it is dug, but fully readable.
