From late 1930s or so, maybe early 1940s: small boy on a rented pony, in full costume / with chaps on and cowboy hat. His cat lies on the front path next to him (look on the right side of photo).
Professional photo (no studio name), still in the original folder it was delivered in, which measures 5"x7"; the photo inside measures about 5"x3.5" -- postcard size.
