Beautiful Vintage Buescher Curved Soprano Sax ~ Low Pitch Saxophone ~ Silver Plate ~ #58xxx : Made in 19__ ~ Original Case ~ Fresh pads ~ PLAYER!!!
Up for sale is this beautiful piece of American Craftsmanship. The iconic Buescher Band Instrument Manufacturing company was one of the most important Band Instrument Companies of all time. The American firm was known for producing some of the finest musical instruments ever. They famously provided an impressive line-up of what has ...become some of the most coveted Saxophones on the market.
Not only is this an example of one of the finer and more rare instruments made by Buescher, but this is a product of the Golden Age of American Manufacturing. From the late 1910’s-1960’s the United States dominated the industry with not only producing most of the musical instruments in the world, but creating by far the finest. The quality of craftsmanship paired with innovation provided a situation where American factories were literally setting the standard for instruments that would follow. This saxophone was made in approximately 1920 and underscores the attention to detail and pride of the American craftsmen, as we enter the ‘Roaring 20’s’.
It shouldn’t be overlooked that it was during this time of evolution for the American manufactures, that the American Jazz genre was really taking shape, and was cultivating into what we know today. It is widely accepted by historians that the impact of the instruments which were evolving rapidly during this point in history was an important factor in how musicians refined their own styles, to better convey their sound, and express themselves thru their music.
