THIS IS A 5 DAY AUCTION ... A really old (probably 1930's) child's electric popcorn popper (it worked when I got it 15 years ago, but I don't have the cord). It stands 6 3/4" tall not counting lid & bowl is 5" diameter. I'm almost certain the base is bakelite (looks black or maybe very deep chocolate color). Bowl & lid appear to be aluminum. Handle is a thicker metal, maybe tin (one side of handle is discolored, as surface finish or paint is missing, not rusted). Lid has holes ...for steam to escape & a red wooden knob which is original to the piece. Lid is very "springy" will stay open for filling if you slip it's edge downward on side of bowl. Corn kernels are agitated while popping by squeezing & releasing the handle (moves smoothly). Overall this antique corn popper is in pretty good condition, but it does have some mild surface rust & discoloration in places (mostly the interior circular piece at bottom of bowl that moves to agitate the corn kernels), but also a few specks in a couple places on 2 of the legs (not bad). Imprinted on outer bowl is "Rapaport Brothers, Inc., Chicago, Ill. U.S.A., Cat. No. 300, 115 V. 140 W., Pat. Pend." I have one exactly like this in my collection and it has a cord, but I wouldn't want to use it (cord on mine is marked "5A - 250 V, 10A - 125 V" & I think is original, if you wanted to replace the one for this popper). Truly a very unique and not easy to find antique child's appliance ... **this is being sold for collectors, not for children**I have other antique & vintage children's kitchen and laundry items listed and will happily combine shipping on auctions ending within 10 days of one another .. please let me know. Thank you so much for your interest in my auctions.
