**ORIGINAL mid-1990's APPLE COLOR STYLEWRITER 2200 Inkjet printer + Vintage Apple CARRY CASE also in EXCELLENT CONDITION**
Includes PRINTER + AC ADAPTER + CASE + CABLE!
This printer is working and appears to be new without any visible cosmetic defects. Turns on immediately and printer cartridge rolls across just as they do today. I do not have a vintage Mac to test it with unfortunately but I am pretty certain it works 100%. The cartridge most likely needs replacing. It is c...ompatible with Apple M3909/M3908 or Canon BC-10/BC-11 (black/color) bubblejet cartridges for the BJC-70. Cartridges are still readily available here on eBay. This is an excellent opportunity for Macintosh aficionados looking to collect a matching printer to Macintosh Powerbook laptops of that period (5300 and 1400 series).
Introduced for PowerBook users June, 1995, it was Apple's second and last battery-powered printer, as well as its lightest model.The Color StyleWriter 2200 featured a resolution of 720x360-dpi and could print at a speed of 5 pages-per-minute in black only, or about 3 minutes-per-page in color. For portable operation, it can run on a rechargeable nickel–metal hydride battery.
It was absolutely fantastic for the times to have a portable inkjet for your Mac laptop that had the capability of printing in beautiful color. While the color printing mode is slow, the results were extremely good. The 2200 comes with 64 fonts, which provide a wide range of choices for text. Also included with the 2200 is a PowerPC native driver and a QuickDraw GX driver. The 2200 is capable of printing at up to 3 different resolutions. The highest resolution, 360×720 in black and white, and 360×360 for color graphics, produces sharp text and excellent graphics. The 2200 can also print with watermarks, and can print four reduced pages on a single page.
While the Color Stylewriter 2200 is a perfect match for period Powerbooks and Macs well into the early 2000's, it is still possible to use this printer with today's Mac OSX system using a serial port-USB adapter and a few tricks (http://cw.kolleegium.ch/stylewriter/).
