Item History & Price
Before singing praises about this lens, some info is due; this is a rarerversion of the lens, made of metal and glass in Wetzlar, Germany in 1978.
An old lens of unparalleled sharpness with the loved and sought after ‘3D glow’Leica lenses give, despite being very old, it a tight, right lens that is anamazing all-arounder. There is no good reason to waste words on how well thislens works,... since it really is nothing but praise; when fully open the lens isbright, colourful and dreamy without being the smallest bit smudgy. As the lensis stopped down, more and more sharp and faithful details will emerge on thephotos.
The previous owner had this lens repaired after the helicoid ring came off, after that, the lens was professionally calibrated and actively used for over a year with sample photos being available on request.
It is in excellent condition, bearing light traces of use onthe barrel and evidence of being open before; through use and tests, we foundno issues.
The aperture is dry and precise, the focus is smooth, while not being butteryand the aperture clicks gently.
Optically, the lens is extremely clean, no traces of haze, fungus orseparations, however, there may be some very light usual dust present, which iscommon with old lenses and will not affect image quality.
Both generic lens caps included.
Please refer to the photos for accurate condition.
We offer a 30 day return period.
