Coleman lantern model 247 cpr. It's dated 7/68. These lanterns were made by Coleman specifically for CPR (Canadian Pacific Railway). This was lightly cleaned but could use a really good polish to bring out the nickle which is pretty good on the tank and burner frame. It has scratches and dings from normal wear but is a very desired piece of both Coleman and railway history. It must have been hit on the pump which pushed in the tank slightly, it did not impact the operation of the pump ...as it pumps and holds pressure. I did a dunk test and there are no leaks. Everything turns as it should and the generator passes air so it shouldn’t take much to get it working if you decide but it’s being sold as is with no warranty.
The vent only has a few chips which would say this didn’t get much use over the years, maybe why the nickle is pretty good.
The CPR embossing is really nice and hasn’t been covered at anytime like many you see. The decal is nice and it’s the original, not a replacement.
The globe is a bold red sunrise which I believe is correct for a 68 model. It’s been removed and boxed separately for safe shipping.
Will make a great Father’s Day gift for the collector in your life.
