Up for sale is a rare antique Austrian grand sonnerie portico clock, with silk thread movement and calendar function. This clock was inherited from a late relative who restored clocks. This one was noted to have been serviced last in 2013. The clock ran for a maximum of 2 hours after giving it several tries. It probably needs some minor adjustments (all 3 springs wound properly). This piece is absolutely stunning. It features a wooden, almost Biedermeier like casing, with carved wooden... cherub and eagle statues. It dates to around 1800. The piece is in overall good condition- a few minor chips in veneer around the tips of the carved housing around the dial (see photos). The dial has an illegible signature and then the word Wien, which translated to “Vienna” (Austria). Measures 24 x 12.75 x 5.5 inches This item is part of an inherited estate.
