Blue Cherry AntiquesFine Antiques & ObjectsAntique Winsor & Newton Watercolour SetA lovely antique watercolour paintbox by Winsor & Newton.  The box is mahogany with very attractive colour streaks in the wood to the lid which also exhibits chatoyancy.  Inside there is a divided tray for paints which lifts out and a blank area in front.  The pull out tray is held in place with the original detent pint and pulls out to reveal a mixing palette.  It comes wi...th a selection of foil wrapped paints, some of which may even be original to the box and a few ceramic tray examples.Inside the lid it has the gilt tooled leatherette Winsor & Newton label with a further label in the blank tray area.  Comes with the key and the lock is functional but requires the lid to be pressed down a little to lock/unlock. ConditionBox generally very good for period with minor wear/knocks/scratches consistent with age.  Labels inside stained and worn.  Lock a bit temperamental.  Minor chips to reverse of palette.
