EXQUISITE GWTW Oil Lamp Large Size with Rampant Lion
Offered is an original 19th century GWTW Kerosine Oil Lamp with a beautiful Rampant Lion in Tracery in a pale yellow on the top and graduates to a pretty green color on remainder of glass vessel like a cloud. I am happy to say that this piece is in near MINT antique preowned condition with no chips, cracks, the met...al has some small wear/deterioration spots but still functions and looks great perhaps it can be cleaned more. There is some minor stencil loss however nothing offensive, oil stains and spots from use and age as would be expected, view photos for personal condition requirements. 100 plus years has been used to burn oil. I have it on display with my other GWTW & banquet lamps and it looks really nice, in my opinion.
Consolidate Oil Burner, center draft it appears, in very good condition.26" tall top of chimney, 35 1/4" circumference, 14.5" tall without chimney, approximate measurements. This is the larger size of the GWTW lamps. Chimney is not original but is an older period chimney, marked Germany. Base is unmarked but we believe it to be manufactured by either Phoenix Glass Co. or Gillinder & Sons.
What a STUNNING addition this somewhat RARE piece would be to any Antique lighting collection! I am sure it would DELIGHT collectors of FINE Lamps. Many antique porcelain and glass items sold in my store were individually crafted many years ago by artisans from all over the world. I do not know the materials used in production, and I cannot guarantee an item's durability. Antique porcelain, glass and other vintage items are fragile and may not be best suited for use and dishwasher use. Antiques and used items will show wear and tear, so if you expect new or mint condition items, some items offered in my store will not be of interest to you.
Please remember also that glass from the American Brilliant Period is that, it is of the late 1800's to early 1900's, and would show light signs of use as you would want to find, consistent with age.I hope that you may prefer to own such beautiful rare articles such as those that are offered here in my store, a piece of the past which makes your collection unique.
