VINTAGE RCA MODEL 77-D RIBBON MICROPHONENBC STUDIO USED~ ESTATE ITEM ~

To check previous related feedback please check the eBay user name: motelbuyer.This Vintage RCA Model 77-D MI-4045-D Ribbon Microphone was part of an estate lot we are liquidating. The former owner was an announcer who worked at NBC in the 1940's, 50's & 60's.It has been in storage for many years and was found as shown. I don't collect audio equipment or microphones and will do the best I can to describe the item. Please feel free to email questions.Vintage RCA Model 77-D MI-4045-D Microphone was found in an estate lot as shown (see photos). It is a fairly heavy and substantial unit, measuring about 13.5 inches in height attached to the stand. It has a classic capsule design rooted in the Art Deco streamline style of the 1930s. The RCA Type 77 series microphone is a powerful and universally recognized symbol of broadcasting. The microphone is well marked and has the RCA logo & model numbers around a band to the center (see photos). There is a marked/adjustment to the bottom of the capsule that I have photographed as well as an apparent marked/adjustment to the microphone's reverse (see photos). The cord from the reverse was covered with electrical tape decades ago and it remains in place as found (see photos). This microphone was apparently owned by NBC as it has been etched on the lower body NBC 67 Street along with the initials WOR and a number (see photos). The base is an apparent desk style that is maker marked to the base (see photos). According to a relative the microphone was working when placed in storage and from the overall condition I wouldn't be surprised if it powered right up but I have no way to test it.This listing present a great opportunity for the vintage audio component collector. I have seen other similar microphones for sale and they seem to sell for well over $1K. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR BIDDING!On May-25-19 at 11:07:02 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had several questions as to whether the microphone is in working condition. I got off my butt and took the microphone to a full service guitar/amp/music equipment store and they tested the microphone for me in my presence.
