For sale is this antique or vintage Southeast Asian bead carved in the image of a mans head. I collect DZI beads, and I recently purchased a lot of them that this was in (along with one more almost just like it). It is some kind of carving in a lightweight material. The material looks like translucent amber of some kind, but after some basic amber “tests”, I don’t believe that it is. It might be something similar to amber (like copal, or another resin), or it might be an artifici...al resin. Because I am not sure about the material, I am not sure about the age of it. I believe that it is likely vintage or antique (as the style looks that way), however there is a possibility that it is more modern. It is a really cool piece and would be a great fit in any collection! Perfect for display! Don’t pass it up!
