VINTAGE 1960's Small 7" or 8" DOLL MAJORETTE COSTUME & Accessories
DESCRIPTION: Based on internet research, all I have been able to discover about this set is that it is from the early 60's and would best fit a Ginny or small Betsy McCall Doll, measuring 7" or 8" high. NONE of these pieces have labels or identifying marks.
I purchased this as part of a lot on ebay so I have no history but will describe each item as best I can. Please check out a...ll the photos and feel free to ask any questions.
NOTE: Just for sizing purposes, I put this on my Skipper doll. The top fits, but all the rest of the outfit is too big for her. She is NOT part of the auction, and is just for a reference.
CONDITION: See below for each item.
DRESS: Color looks bright, the two back snaps are intact. and the only imperfection I see is a small dot size mark on the front in the white area. It is actually too small to show up in the pictures.
RED SATIN SHORTS / PANTIES: The color looks bright, but the elastic is a bit stretched around the waist and leg openings.
FLAG: The flag looks good, but I do see a crease mark on one side.
HAT: The colors are bright, but the red decoration on front looks "fluffy" and the small white brim has some minor discoloration. On the back, is a very minor pull in the satin material.
BOOTS: The look okay, but there is some discoloration from age.
RED TASSLES: Based on internet research, they are supposed to be attached to the boots and could be glued on, but I will leave that up to the next owner. One is a bit fluffier than the other (visible in the pictures).
JUST a note, while my own home is non-smoking, I can not say for certain that this originated from a non-smoking home. I don't sense any smoke scent, but again, I just mention it because I don't have the history.
