A pair of beautiful French 19th century bronze toned spelter statues by Louis Moreau.
Both pieces are in excellent undamaged condition with a good bronzed patina. Each is presented on an original stained wood stand, banded with a ring of brass. The wooden stand have a small brass plate noting the title of each figure and the name 'L. Moreau'. The spelter bases of the figures are also inscribed with their respective titles and the signature of Moreau.
'Sorti...e d'Ecole' - Exit of School or 'School's Out'A young boy in 19 century French outfit, has placed his satchel and lunch basket on the ground behind him whilst he plays with (throwing) spinning tops.
Stands - 41 cm (inc. base), wooden base diameter - 15 cm, weight - 1.8 kg.
'Oh !!! Eh'A young boy in 19 century French outfit, with satchel on his back, is calling out. He appearws to be playing marbles or perhaps Boules.
Stands - 36 cm (inc Base), wooden base diameter - 15 cm, weight - 1.95 kg.
