This is an antique, ArtNouveau design, STERLING SILVER pocket watch fob with a seal, made by UNGERBROTHERS (Bros.). It is marked on the back of the top bow, “STERLING .925 FINE, ”which makes up a circle surrounding the company’s intertwined “UB” logo. (Thishallmark was used between 1872 and 1914.) The inside of the clasp’s hook ismarked “STG.”The total length (includingthe chain) is 5-5/8 inches. The bows are 1-1/16 inches wide. The seal is 1-3/16inches high (including ...its loop), 1 inch wide and 9/16 of an inch deep. Thetotal weight is 15.8 grams on my little pocket scale and either between 14 and15 grams on my postage scale. The seal is not engraved.(PLEASE SEE ALL PHOTOS andfeel free to ask any questions.)It has signs of 2 oldrepairs. The loop on the bottom of the last bow has been soldered back on andthe 2 loops between the 4th and 5th bows are newer thanthe others (and the newer loops are oblong, while the original ones are round).I can’t tell if the patina is applied, tarnish or both. But you can see thatthe patina has been removed on the back of the bottom bows and along the bottomedge of the seal.
