Antique Flow Blue Delft Porcelain Sardine Box Lidded Dish Figural Fish Dolphin Handle.
This is a wonderful flow blue porcelain sardine dish. From a collector’s estate, this piece is marked Delft Germany Hand painted. There is also a “D” or beehive mark, can’t tell - also an “S” with number 12 in a diamond shape. The circle mark I cannot make out the symbol or circular writing.
The box is lidded with matching squared underplate dish- blue Delft floral design with a r...ooster scene on top lid- each side (very rare). The handle is figural in the shape of a dolphin or fish.
The blue color flows well, with some crazing mostly inside the dish. The color is good and strong, some lighter spots.
There are no cracks or splits in the porcelain. The noticeable imperfection is the top of the fish handle has lost some porcelain, showing the underneath stoneware. There is also one tiny nick on the underneath lid, not noticeable.
The rectangular shape measures about 8 inch x 7 inch. Overall the height with lid is about 5-1/2 inches tall.
