You are bidding on an antique, ceramic, under the glaze transferred Jar or "pot lid" as they aremore commonly referred to, which dates to about 1885 and which was produced for "Liston's Extract of Beef" CHICAGO, Illinois. The original productwhich was marketed in this jar, was advertised as a "NutritiousExtract." Apart from thenutrition, the Company also claimed that the product had medicinal qualities, and was an "invaluable remedy for indigestion andsleeplessness"This jar ...stands about 2 1/2" tall and has a lid diameter of about 2 7/8" Forapproximate visualization of size, see last pic where the Jar is photographedalongside a regular can of Coke.
