1872 jewelled fusee J. W. Benson pocket watch solid silver good condition working and serviced, the solid silver case is in good condition with no bad scratches dents or staining, it does have some wear small marks and 2/3 very small dents, the back has an engine turned design with a vacant cartouche in the middle, some of the engine turning has worn away over time, around the out side of the case is a coined edging their is some wear to this as well, push the button down on top of the... crown and the back will open with help, on the inside back cover is the loin for 0.925 a London hallmark a date letter for 1872 and a case makers mark E. W, the watch can be wound up at the point with the key supplied, their is some scratches below the winding post, open the front cover push the button ij at the bottom of the dial and the movement will swing open, their is a dust cover on the movement which is in very good condition, take it off to get to the movement, the movement looks very clean it's working and i have serviced it, it's a key wound and set fusee movement which is chain driven with 11 jewels a lever escapement with a full plate a plain balance cock with a ruby end stone and a gold balance wheel, the movement is signed by J. W, Benson Ludgate hill London, push the movement back down and it clicks back into place, the dial is white enamel with black roman numerals and a sub second dial at 6 o'clock, it has no chips or staining but does have 2/3 faint hairlines but the dial is still in good condition, all the hands are their in great condition and working well, with the key supplied you can wind and set the hands has it should, the watch will run the full length of it's wind and keeps very good time, the watch is 48.4mm in diameter with out the crown and 18.3mm thick with the glass, all the hinges are in good condition and working well, the glass is also in very good condition with little wear or marks on it, this is a very nice jewelled fusee J.
