Here is an 8 1/4" antique German Armand Marseille (AM) 252 Googly-Eye, bisque character head boy doll, with a five-piece composition baby body. The doll has a solid dome socket head with molded, painted hair and a top knot with side-glancing eyes and an impish painted smile. It was produced for George Borgfeldt, a doll importer and distributor in the U.S. in the early 20th c . It is marked on the back of the neck. Just part of the 252 number is visible, and... it is marked A7M and DRMR. The fingers have red lines between fingers.
The doll's rather coarse, composition body is missing the front of the right leg's foot, has chipped toes on the left foot, and his right hand thumb is missing. There is glue residue around the torso's mid-section, and it might have been for a diaper. The doll needs cleaning, which was not attempted. Please see photos.
