Offered for your consideration is a beautiful group of three antique sterling silver tea strainers. One of the three is unmarked as to the maker and it's an art noveau repousse design circa 1910. One is an in-the-spout design from Maltby, Stevens & Curtiss Co. of Wallingford, CT. made between 1879-1896. The third piece is from Frank M. Whiting and dates from the late 1800's to early 1900's.
The strainers show light use and all three remain in excellent condition with no prob...lems. They have not been altered, repaired, or harshly cleaned and remain original. If they were ever even cleaned it was certainly a very long time ago.
This is a great-looking group of antique strainers and they were beautifully crafted. The in-the-spout example retains its original bail and spout spring. The strainer and hardware are free of any bending or deformation. The Frank M. Whiting example is the heaviest of the three and it's very sturdy. It has a flowers and leaves design around the rim as shown. The strainer without any maker's marks features an intricate and highly detailed daisy motif.
The strainers weigh in at 73 grams total weight.
This would be a great group for the collector or for dealer stock.
