Vintage Bowling Shirt, By Mr. Mort's Bowling Apparel, Woman's, Khaki, Pre-Owned. I used to export young men's apparels to my Japanese clients about 35 years ago and collected many vintage bowling shirts according to the clients' requests, but, I missed the proper timing to ship them in time for the summer season in Japan. So, I kept them in storage. Just recently I am going through it to try to downsize my stuff since I am retired. I found many vintage bowling shirts there. So, I ...am listing them one by one on ebay. This shirt is one of those.No label indicates materials, but according to my experience, I believe that it is made of Rayon, but unknown the percentages of mix with other materials. The actual measurement: From armpit to armpit (chest) is 24". From the tip of collar to the bottom of shirt is 24". The waist is 22.5". The name "Evelyn" with black stitches and the last name "Serber" with black stitches behind left shoulder on back. Also, "Valley" at the top, "A lampstand picture" between "B' NAI" and "B'RITH" with black color felt heat transferred on the back. There is a round seal attached, saying "League President" in red and "Brunswick" in blue and "leaves figure" in green on left sleeve. Both right and left sides around waist have the same buttons for adjustment. It has been dry cleaned, but unfortunately I have to fold it for shipping. The net weight is less than 1 lb. and after packaged, it would be less than 2 lbs.
Special Note: This shirt is for Ladies! For women's originally! This listing is the 2nd time round. I believe that the highest bidder for the first time listing misunderstood that this shirt is for men. He ended up cancelling his highest bid on this shirt. And he bought another men's nice Khaki color shirt just like this one and I am happy for him. The first round of biddings on this shirt got heated up and there were a lot of biddings done and the final price went over $250.00 on this shirt! I know, the letterings on the back is unique and very nice. this is well-preserved vintage shirt. Fashionable color too! But, the original person who has worn it was "Ms. Evelyn Serber" according to the stitches on it. She was the league president of "Brunswick" according to the seal on left sleeve. Quite an accomplishment then, I imagine. Also, I included that the pictures of sawing construction for the front chest of the shirt show that the shirt was made for the ladies. (The last two pictures). Also, the way of front buttoning is for women's. Among many vintage bowling shirt collections I had more than 35 years ago, I found only a few shirts for women's and this is one of those. So, I do not care if guys are buying for their wives, daughters or girlfriends. I just want to make sure that you know that you are bidding on a rare Women's Vintage Bowling Shirt for this time!
