This is for an antique metal screw in seal dating to the late 1700, early 1800s. It looks to be made to impress facsimile seals, little Grand tour souvenirs, this one showing a believer kneeling at Christ's feet and has the words 'Who Touches Lives'. It has the name Burch which relates to Edward Burch (1730-1814) who was the most celebrated gem carver in England of his time and as his name is inverted shows this was intended as a seal. It is in excellent condition with no damage t...o it anywhere and it has the original threaded screw attached to the back. It comes with a red wax impression and this is mounted onto a later dated card for display. The seal measures 24mm (1") x 30mm.
