Thisis an extremely rare Electro-Voice (EV) made Fender 12F speaker withoriginal cone in MINT condition. It is arguably the rarest guitar speaker everproduced. Grab it while it is still available. Fender 12F speakers were special order custom made EVM12S speakers with a unique aluminum dome and were only built in theearly 1980's for about 3 years. Doing an extended searchwill reveal that finding a single one is very difficult.Thealuminum dome gives the Fender 12F the m...ost extended upper range ofany guitar speaker. It is extremely loud and clean. Electro-Voice used a unique aluminum dome similar to JBL domes, butthey have their own look, shape, and sound, with more highs. Thiswas pulled long ago from an early 1980's Fender Princeton Reverb IIand stored. Thisspeaker sounds amazing and tests perfect at all volumes with no coilrub or issues. Both the cone and dome are in mint condition. Most of these speakers have developed small dents on the aluminum dome from use or accidents. This one looks perfect, withno dents or creases on the aluminum dome and no tears, holes, ordamage on the original cone! The dome is still very shiny despite italmost being 40 years old...today most of these domes have many rustspots throughout from humid storage...This one looks great andretains its shine with almost no rust. This appears to be an early one. It says says "027" (27th week of 1980) on the date code and is one of theearliest ones I've seen. The only others I have seen were from a few weeks later, and were all also made in 1980. Itwill be very carefully packed and insured for full value.Someinfo and history about the Fender 12F:TheFender 12F is inaccurately often referred to as an EV EVM 12Lwith a JBL type aluminum dome. In actuality, Fender 12F speakers areall EVM 12S speakers with a JBL style dome, NOT an EVM 12L speakerswith the JBL dome. All Fender 12F speakers had the shallower EVM 12Sframe with the shallow 70586 EVM12S cone. EVM 12L speakers hada larger frame and came with the deeper 79195 cone. TheFender 12F was a special order speaker in the early 1980's during theFender/Rivera amp period. JBL's were no longer being made andthis is the speaker Electro-Voice offered to Fender to emulate thefamous JBL D-120/K-120/E-120 speakers. Very few were built uponrequest. The result was a speaker with more clean headroom andextended upper range harmonics. This is an amazing speaker like none other. Thanksfor viewing!
